On January 31, 2014, Kimi's Travel Thoughts was born and this post is number 100 after an exciting ten years of blogging! I started this blog as a junior in high school for a dual credit English course. Originally on Google's Blogger platform, Kimi's Travel Thoughts began as a periodic, written assignment that the world could access. As the semester concluded, our instructor reminded the class that we could continue blogging because we were using a free platform and had complete freedom to write about anything we liked. I chose to continue Kimi's Travel Thoughts as a true travel blog -- quite the ambitious task for a high school student without a driver's license that's involved in extracurricular activities and relying on family to make taking any trips possible.
A Few Bumps in the Road to 100 Posts
Blogging as a student is why you will notice there are gaps in the original publishing dates across blog posts up to January 2022.

School Kept Me Very Busy
I got my driver's license about six weeks after publishing the first post for Kimi's Travel Thoughts, but didn't have a vehicle of my own and was still a busy high school student. I began writing travel commentary, travel tips, and recaps of group trips. I figured I could continue my blog throughout college -- only to find out that was an even more ambitious goal that I simply could not achieve after writing and publishing a few posts sporadically. The look of exhaustion from being a college student is evident on my face in this photo from my graduation. After four years of college, I graduated with my bachelor's degree, began working, making travel plans using my hard earned money...and then along came the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pandemic Prevented Travel
During the pandemic, I began working on my master's degree and saw all my travel plans get canceled. Focusing on safety, I didn't travel anywhere for a long time. As I began understanding more about how to stay safe during a pandemic and received my vaccinations, I looked to see where I could go in the future once conditions improved. I had money saved for a trip and just needed a destination. That's when I decided to tag along with my aunt for a weekend in Las Vegas to go to a Raiders football game and simultaneously revive Kimi's Travel Thoughts! I designed a new logo, moved to a new platform to host my website, designed a new website, and migrated my old content over to what is now the current form of Kimi's Travel Thoughts.

Getting Back on Track
I carefully laid out a plan to increase content production and make it more consistent. Along with that, I focused more energy into improving my social media content and presence across multiple platforms which included joining Instagram. This all meant more time, money, and effort being put forth into my blog. However, every moment of getting Kimi's Travel Thoughts to what it is now and having 100 blog posts (and counting) has been so fulfilling and worth everything I've put into it. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported my blog whether you have been here for years, just passing through, or new to my blog! Some of you are here simply to keep up with my life and others are on my website to gain information. No matter the reason for visiting Kimi's Travel Thoughts, I hope my blog has and continues to provide you with interesting and useful information related to travel and culture. Time to get to work on the next 100 blog posts!

I recently learned what colors are good for business and it was very helpful. I learned that color plays a key role in creating a memorable brand. For example, companies like Coca-Cola and Starbucks effectively use colors to shape their image. I learned that choosing the right shades can evoke emotions in customers and differentiate my business from competitors. I also learned that it is important to use a limited number of colors to avoid confusion and create a unified style. This knowledge inspired me to rethink my color palette so that it aligns with my brand values and goals.
